There's another path. Our Adult Airway Stabilization Program improves breathing during sleep β no mask required for many patients.
Tell us about your sleep. Our treatment coordinator will reach out the same business day.
When the airway narrows during sleep, the body works harder to keep breathing stable. That extra effort shows up in ways that often seem unrelated to breathing.
If these sound familiar, your airway may be working harder than it should to maintain stable breathing during sleep. Identifying the pattern is the first step toward better rest.
Airway stability rarely comes down to one thing. Our program works on all three factors that keep the airway open during sleep.
If obstructive sleep apnea is diagnosed or suspected, a custom oral sleep appliance helps support the airway β a comfortable alternative for many CPAP-intolerant patients.
NightLase laser therapy is a non-invasive treatment used to improve the tone of the airway tissues that tend to collapse during sleep.
CMDI functional airway training retrains the breathing and muscle-coordination patterns that support stable breathing through the night.
NightLase laser therapy and CMDI airway training aren't offered by most practices. Patients come to Lafayette from across Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, and Kentucky for a coordinated alternative to CPAP-only care.
An easy day trip from Indianapolis, Chicago, and Fort Wayne for airway care many can't find closer to home.
Laser airway tissue treatment is uncommon regionally β we use it as a core part of the program.
If you've given up on CPAP, this coordinated approach may offer a path you haven't tried.
CBCT 3D airway imaging plus CMDI functional mapping give a clear picture of both anatomy and how your airway is actually working.
We address tissue tone, structure, and breathing patterns together β not as separate disconnected fixes.
For out-of-town patients we group appointments efficiently so treatment fits fewer trips.
For many patients, yes. A coordinated approach using a custom oral sleep appliance, NightLase laser therapy, and CMDI airway training can help improve airway stability during sleep. If obstructive sleep apnea is diagnosed or suspected, a custom oral sleep appliance may be recommended. We frequently work with patients who have struggled to tolerate CPAP.
Common signs include snoring, mouth breathing during sleep, waking tired, daytime fatigue, clenching or grinding teeth, morning headaches, jaw tension, and difficulty tolerating CPAP. These may indicate the airway is working harder to maintain stable breathing.
The Adult Airway Stabilization Program includes CBCT airway imaging, CMDI airway mapping, NightLase laser therapy (3 sessions), and CMDI functional airway training. If a custom oral sleep appliance is indicated, that is discussed separately. You will receive a complete written estimate at your consultation, and monthly financing is available.
NightLase is a non-invasive laser therapy used to improve the tone of the soft tissues in the airway that tend to relax and collapse during sleep β done over a short series of comfortable sessions.
We evaluate airway structure and function and coordinate care accordingly. If obstructive sleep apnea is suspected, diagnosis involves appropriate testing, and treatment is tailored to what's found. Your consultation is the place to map this out.
